I had no idea that the bumble bee was an actual species of bee (rather than just a cute name for the honey bee), until I saw one in Paris. Bumble bees are HUGE. It seemed completely reasonable that they might be aerodynamically unfit for flight.

    I had the same revelation the first time I saw a bumblee bee, in NZ.

    Hmm… Makes me wonder what sort of animal a “puppy dog” really is. And what about “kitty cats”?
